Man if I blogged as often as I read blogs I'd be all set! There's been a lot going on (but what else is new), and I'm spending the weekend working late and reading blogs of course! Reading about other peoples' lives always helps get me motivated to write about my own...
First, a DC update. I have a place to live with a friend of Babe's... it's a guy and his girlfriend and their two dogs. It's within walking distance of my work, so that's nice. I really didn't expect Babe's roommates to not allow me to live with him, and the extra rent is a big blow to our finances. I had a subletter lined up and we were all set, and then yesterday she skipped out at the last minute because her jerk-ass boyfriend decided to magically become nice for two days...I was really mad, and had a mild panic attack about the bills. But Babe calmed me down and reassured me that we will make it work either way. The extra money would have realllly helped, though. I'm pretty sure I have developed an ulcer from the stress of this year already, worrying about money all the time.......
Babe came home last weekend sort of last minute. I worked a lot and had things to do, like go to the dentist and run errands for moving, so I was bummed when the weekend flew and it felt like we didn't have any time together. When he decided to come home I told myself it'd be ok because I'd see him again in 3 weeks for the summer. But nope! Didn't make any difference. I still cried before we got to the car to go to the airport, and on the way there, and saying good bye. We are coming up on 4 months and it's really flying by. And it's been going really well. But everytime I drop him off and have to say goodbye, my heart hurts and I wonder for a minute how I'm going to do this again.
In other news, I've been staying dedicated to those workout videos I mentioned a while back which I'm glad about because I'm about to not have a gym for a few months. And let me tell you they actually kind of kick my ass. AND they are only about 25 minutes long (I normally do 2), which is so short there is no excuse! I also recently discovered a new blog: http://www.skinnyrunner.com/. This girl is impressive and witty. She makes ME want to train to run marathons! (ha...) And also wish I was funnier. Oh well.
Anyway, I've been super busy at work getting everybody trained before I go. Next week our intern starts, and I'm anxious about that. I have NO CLUE how to teach her to do what I do, since I've basically created it myself. She'll have to be my shadow for a while and go from there I think. I feel for her though, because in about two weeks that will be me...lost, confused and clueless :/
